How to become an author on the weblog

Thanks for the step-by-step instructions on how to become an author on the ECFI Buyer's Guide weblog. As you can see from this posting I made it and it works! Nevertheless, there are two points on which I would be grateful for some further clarification. Firstly, now that I am a "Google Account holder" what else can I do with it? Secondly, during the Google Account sign up process I stumbled (more than once) over the Word Verification requirement. What is that all about?

Elisabeth,

Welcome to the ECFI Buyer's Guide weblog. With a Google Account you have access to a variety of products and services. As an information professional you might like to try out Alerts, Blog Search and Finance News. With respect to your second point, the Word Verification requirement is a safety feature by which Google wants to verify that a person rather than a machine has created the account. The assumption is that a person can recognise the letters but a machine cannot - at least not yet! Hope this helps.
